The Kingman Canyon Railroad is an outdoor G scale model train garden that tells the amazing story of America’s progress by the development and expansion of the railroads. They had a major impact on the United States expansion west and the industrial revolution.

The garden landscape is a varying topography of mountains, canyons and prairies representative on time segments of progress, including a major node to Historic Route 66 as it heads across the USA from Chicago to Los Angles.

Visitors of all ages delight in the spectacle of our G-scale model garden trains as they meander through a landscape of natural vegetation, trestles, towns and villages, roads, and rail yards. The layout is to be built on contoured, compacted soil with stone foundation formed into a series of hills and valleys.

Xeriscaping and placement of rock formations will enhance the design. The garden will be home to a large collection of cacti of the southwest. Photographers will be encouraged to share their photos with friends and family as well as donate their special photos to our photo gallery.

Handicapped and stroller-accessible walkways will encompass the entire garden. Benches are planned at regular spacing to offer rest and a chance to slowly take in the layout and area views.

All types of landscaping materials and supplies are needed to complete the layout. Contributors of large objects will be noted on a plaque or on the object itself. The names of general contributors will be listed on a group plaque displayed in the layout.
